"Wow! Your Mom is So Rich!"
Friends, my heart is healing.
I shared with you the story of how my daughter became excited about something one time, then her face fell and she said, "We can't. We're too poor," and it hit me like a spear through my gut.
It was then I vowed to change her reality, by changing ours.
I moved into my new house in October, the home purchased with the fruits of that effort, and though she planned to stay with her Dad, she has gravitated over here more and more.
The other day, she brought her first friend over for a visit and as she gave him the tour, I heard him say, "Wow! Your mom is so rich!"
It reminded me of that "We're too poor," moment and I realized: we made it.
I mentioned it to her later that day. I told her she was a part of why we got here, because I couldn't stand the thought that she would just have to accept the lie that we were too poor to do anything.
She didn't say anything, she just smiled and reached in for a tight hug.
You could say this is a result of hard work and I sure had that in spades, but I worked this hard my entire adult life, so what changed?
I refused to speak life to that lie any longer.
And as you read this, you're probably feeling a lie in your life you've spoken too much truth to. This is your invitation to make a choice.
Because whatever you're telling yourself, you are infinitely more than that. ❤
